Fibre/Comms Engineer

Due to continued business growth we are looking to recruit experienced and dependable fibre engineers to join our multiskilled nationwide installation team.

The successful candidates will be installing fibre optic systems and associated equipment in a variety of internal and external locations across the UK, they will be prepared to learn new skills such as networking and wireless transmission, and will be happy working alone, or as part of a team. They must also be H&S conscious and take pride in their work.

They will be responsible for the following duties;

  • Installation of short to medium distance fibre optic cabling through underground ducting
  • Termination/splicing of 4-144 core fibre optic cables in a variety of panels/enclosures
  • Underground Jointing/splicing of 4-144 core fibre optic cables
  • Installation of racks, enclosures, and cabinets.
  • Installation of Patch panels/termination boxes
  • Installation of transmission equipment
  • OTDR Testing
  • Test Report Creation

Essential Experience:

  • Installation of Multimode and Singlemode fibre optic systems in a variety of environments
  • Comfortable working alone or as part of a team
  • Understanding and Working to job packs
  • Carrying out dynamic risk assessments

Essential Skills:

  • A Full UK Driving License
  • CSCS/ECS Card
  • C&G or Equivalent in Fibre optics and/or Copper

Desirable Skills:

  • First Aid (EFaW)
  • Manual Handling
  • PIA training
  • HERS training
  • Basic computer skills
