Upgrade of fire detection and suppression systems
A fire-rated fibre infrastructure was supplied and installed by Core Integrated as part of a project to upgrade the fire detection and suppression systems within aircraft hangars. This involved the following process:
- Single alarms were transmitted from the hangars to intermediate buildings
- Here they were received and patched onto multichannel muxes units
- Onward transmission to the central monitoring station 3.5km across the base
The project was untaken under very tight timescales, with programming of the works designed carefully to fit around the essential base activities.
